Austin Tadman was named the Region 8A Triple “A” Award winner at a luncheon held in Mahnomen on February 12th. Previously Austin was named the Sub-Section 30 Triple “A” Award winner.
Established in 1988, the award, popularly known as the Triple “A” Award, recognizes and rewards high school seniors from across the state for their achievements in the classroom, the arts and athletics. To qualify for the award, students must have a “B” or better grade point average and participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities. League member schools are invited to nominate two students¾a boy and a girl¾for the award. Award recipients are selected through a multi-level process involving the League’s administrative regions and a committee of athletic, fine arts and educational leaders.
There are a total of 32 Minnesota students who have reached the final round of this competition – 8 girls and 8 boys from Class A and 8 girls and 8 boys from Class AA. Four students – a boy and a girl from Class A and a boy and a girl from Class AA will be named the 2015 Minnesota State Triple “A” Award Winners.
